A few recent outbreaks of computer viruses (Netsky.D, Bagle.D and their variants) have been assigned a high risk alert. In order to fully protect your computer from virus attack, please remember to update the virus pattern of your PC-Cillin. As of Mar 3, the pattern file is 797.

6. "Parallel Programming and Performance Tuning for Orpin Users" Workshop - Mar 17-19 |
|
|
The "Parallel Programming and Performance Tuning for Orpin Users" workshop (Intermediate to Advanced Level) provides knowledge and practical experience on Parallel Programming and Performance Tuning for Sun Fire 6800 server users. Performance analysis, techniques for optimizing applications, parallelization and advanced programming languages such as MPI and OpenMP will be presented. To facilitate learning, case studies and several practical sessions will also be conducted.

8. Suspension of ITSC PC LAN Services between Mar 6, 2:30 p.m. and Mar 7, 1:00 p.m. |
|
|
The ITSC PC LAN services will be suspended between Mar 6 (Saturday), 2:30 p.m. and Mar 7 (Sunday), 1:00 p.m. for hardware replacement. During the suspension period, the User Area and all the training rooms on the 1/F of Pi Chiu Building will be closed too.
