A delegation led by Prof. Qu Zhenyuan, Party Secretary of the China Agricultural University (CAU) visited the Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK) on 19 January 2009. This is CAU's another senior delegation to CUHK after the signing of collaboration agreements between the two Universities in December 2008. Prof. Qu visited State Key Laboratory of Agrobiotechnology (CUHK) and met with CUHK representatives, including Prof. Lawrence J. Lau, Vice-Chancellor; Prof. Jack Cheng, Pro-Vice-Chancellor; Prof. Henry Wong, Chairman of Research Committee; Prof. Samuel Sun, Director of the State Key Laboratory of Agrobiotechnology (CUHK) etc. It is believed that the two Universities will continue to have close academic and research cooperation on agrobiotechnology.

Prof. Wu Cheng, the Department of Automation, Tsinghua University and Member of Chinese Academy of Engineering, visited the Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK) on 19-20 January to give the "Distinguished Scholar Lecture". Prof. Wu also met with CUHK representatives, including Prof. Lawrence J. Lau, Vice-Chancellor; Prof. Andrew Yao, Distinguished Professor-at-Large; Prof. Xu Yangsheng, Associate-Pro-Vice-Chancellor; and Prof. Peter Yum, Dean of Faculty of Engineering. He also visited the Institute of Space and Earth Information Science and some major laboratories of the Faculty of Engineering, including Advanced Robotic Laboratory, Institute of Precision Engineering, and Virtual Reality, Visualization and Imaging Research Centre.

Delegations from Beijing Normal University (BNU) and Beijing Normal University Zhuhai (BNUZH) visited the Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK) in January.

On 9 January, Prof. Fu Ailan, Vice-President of BNUZH, led a 6-member delegation to visit CUHK. They met with Prof. Jack Cheng, Pro-Vice-Chancellor and representatives from the Registry and the Office of University General Education, who gave the delegation a brief introduction to CUHK, the University's general education and registry services. They also visited New Asia College and met with their College Secretary Dr. Peter Man.
