The admission results of the 2007 JUPAS recruitment exercise, the main admission channel of local secondary 7 students, has been announced. Our Business Faculty continues doing exceptionally well under JUPAS this year, both in terms of intake numbers and quality. In addition, we keep on admitting the finest group of students through the Early Admissions Scheme (EAS), a channel for local secondary 6 students who obtained very outstanding HKCEE results.
JUPAS
In the 2007 entry, CUBA has issued offers to 419 JUPAS applicants in the Main Round. We have admitted the most elite group of students in Hong Kong. The academic performances of our business JUPAS entrants, as reflected in the median programme WGPA (note), are very outstanding. Global Business Studies has been ranked the first since its launch in 2005. The median WGPA of Global Business Studies reaches 4.6357 on a 5-point scale.
Our Programmes including Insurance, Financial and Actuarial Analysis, Quantitative Finance, BBA-JD and Professional Accountancy have become the top 10 programmes across the University's 53 programmes. Our Integrated BBA Programmes and Hotel and Tourism Management are doing very well, too. The respective median programme WGPA is over 3.7 on a 5-point scale.

Early Admissions Scheme (EAS)
Since the introduction of the Early Admissions Scheme in 2002, CUBA has been one of the most popular choices among EAS applicants. In the 2007 EAS exercise, about 20% of the EAS applicants territory-wide have selected our business programmes as their first choice. According to the figures as of April 2007, CUBA has admitted 89 EAS students, being the Faculty at CUHK admitting the largest number of EAS students. This figure also represents more than 20% of local EAS applicants became a member of CUBA. Out of the 17 EAS students admitted to CUHK with 10As or 9As in HKCEE, 10 of them (close to 60%) belong to CUBA.
The Way Forward
With concerted efforts from colleagues in our Business Faculty, we are offering business programmes which are attracting the best from local JUPAS applicants. We are confident that we will continue to admit the top quality and outstanding young talents to our Business Faculty.
