The CUHK Wi-Fi network has been expanded to cover major lecture theatres, classrooms, libraries and student canteens. Since the introduction of a new Centralized Wi-Fi Model in September 2008, several Wi-Fi SSIDs (Service Set ID) have been set up to serve different user groups. They are as follows: For CUHK staff and students: SSID=CUHK For CUHK alumni*: SSID=CUguest For non-CUHK members who are subscribers of our Wi-Fi Hotspot Partners: SSID=PCCW/Y5ZONE/eduroam
In addition, through the CUHK Wi-Fi Hotspot Partnership Programme, CUHK staff and students can access free Wi-Fi services from thousands of Wi-Fi hotspots throughout Hong Kong (provided by PCCW and Y5ZONE). When you are visiting an overseas university, remember to check out the member list of Eduroam, for you, as a member of CUHK which in turn is a member of Eduroam, can get free Wi-Fi access there.
