2. Virus Alert! Is your Virus Pattern File Up-to-date?

A few recent outbreaks of computer viruses (Netsky.D, Bagle.D and their variants) have been assigned a high risk alert. In order to fully protect your computer from virus attack, please remember to update the virus pattern of your PC-Cillin. As of Mar 3, the pattern file is 797.

Here are a few points you should note:

  • Install Virus Scanner on your PC.
  • Never run programs obtained from unknown sources.
  • Never open files obtained from unknown sources.
  • Scan programs or files from the mail/newsgroup/ftp server/web before opening them.
